Over two weekends the cast of Blackham and Penshurst performed the tense crime drama Grand National Night written by Dorothy and Campbell Christie and made into a film in 1953.
A racehorse owner has a drunken quarrel with his wife that ends in her accidental death. Terrified he will be thought a murderer, he hides her body and covers up the evidence – but a wily police inspector is convinced he has something to hide.
